State Authorization

UWL complies with regulations in other states to offer online education and clinical placement opportunities to students. This is often referred to as "state authorization."

UWL is part of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).

Florida Residents: University of Wisconsin-La Crosse does not require licensure to offer courses and externships/clinicals to Florida residents because UWL has no physical presence/instructors in Florida and no monies are exchanged between the University and externship/clinical sites.

California Residents: University of Wisconsin-La Crosse does not require licensure to offer courses and externships/clinicals in California. 

File a Complaint

In compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations, UWL provides information to students about their rights to make a complaint about the institution.

To file a complaint against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse directly, students may learn about the UW System Complaint Process for resolving complaints and complete the form at the UW System website.

Professional Licensure Notice

The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse cannot confirm whether any particular course or program meets requirements for professional licensure in states other than Wisconsin. If you are planning to apply for licensure in a state other than Wisconsin after completion of your program, contact that state's appropriate licensing board to determine whether the University of
Wisconsin – La Crosse program meets licensure requirements in that state.
